Fully Automated Solution
LiveVault InSync is a completely automated
solution, eliminating the labor and headaches
associated with tape backup.
With LiveVault InSync, backups are performed
automatically and continuously, so data is
protected as it’s created. Instantly, your data
moves through a secure network connection, using
state-of-the-art security including AES
encryption, VPN tunneling and digital
certificates, to a secure, remote LiveVault Data
Storage Vault.
Even recovery is automated. You select the data
to be recovered from a catalog of archived file
versions and LiveVault InSync automatically
restores the data to your location. With
LiveVault InSync, the time you save on backup
and recovery lets you focus on more
mission-critical projects for your business.

LiveVault TurboRestore Appliance
LiveVault InSync includes the optional LiveVault
TurboRestore rapid recovery appliance for local,
disk-speed restores of current data and recent
history. The LiveVault TurboRestore appliance
resides in your office, while requiring
absolutely no maintenance or manual operation.
LiveVault TurboRestore enables you to quickly
recover large amounts of data while achieving
the most stringent Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
With LiveVault TurboRestore, data is
automatically backed up to the local LiveVault
TurboRestore appliance, and then sent over the
network to LiveVault’s secure Data Storage
Vault. LiveVault TurboRestore maintains
recoverable copies of all current data plus
approximately three weeks of history. It also
maintains a rolling history of the most granular
versions of data. Data is always available for
instant local recovery via LiveVault
TurboRestore. In a site disaster, however, if
LiveVault TurboRestore is unavailable, data is
recoverable immediately from the Data Storage
Vault. Data is guaranteed to be recoverable,
usually within minutes.
With LiveVault InSync, you have the option of
sending data first to the LiveVault TurboRestore
appliance, and then, securely over the network
to LiveVault’s Data Storage Vault, with
completely different parameters. For instance,
you can back up data to the local LiveVault
TurboRestore appliance on a continuous basis,
while only replicating data from the appliance
to the LiveVault Data Storage Vault during
nights or weekends. (This enables you to have a
flexible backup schedule, and also helps you
prioritize the use of precious bandwidth
resources.)
At restore time, the LiveVault Restore Wizard
finds the files you requested to restore and
retrieves the data from the fastest available
location, usually the LiveVault Turbo Restore
appliance.
The LiveVault TurboRestore appliance provides
the fastest recovery times in the industry,
enabling you to get remote offices up and
running right away after a data loss.

capability that drastically speeds restoration
for a common cause of data loss: data
corruption. Now, instead of restoring an entire
file or database after corruption or inadvertent
change, LiveVault InSync enables you to restore
only the data that changed — in effect rolling
back the data to the exact state it was in prior
to the corruption. So when a virus corrupts a
few messages within a large Microsoft Exchange
database, LiveVault InSync “rolls back” the
database to a point prior to the corruption by
restoring only the data that changed — and
reconstructing the database to its exact form at
that point in time.
