In today's fast-paced business climate, having reliable IT
infrastructure is critical to running a business. As computers
and networking equipment become faster and more powerful, the
ability to process information and gather data grows with it...as
well as reliance on the network. Maintaining network
availability is necessary in ensuring that the systems that run
businesses are secure and maintain their integrity. One key
component to maintaining network reliability is ensuring the
physical security of the network.
Today it's more critical than ever to have real-time,
organization-wide access to physical security data that can threaten
the systems, infrastructure and assets that run a business.
NetBotz appliances protect against the kinds of threatening
conditions - human error, intrusion, extreme heat, low humidity,
water leakage - that could jeopardize the processes, operations, and
transactions that form the backbone of a business.
NetBotz Central provides an efficient, productive way for
organizations to manage their company-wide NetBotz appliances.
By providing a centralized server to mass configure, deploy and view
data collected by NetBotz monitoring appliances, NetBotz Central
creates a physical security network that spans the organization
across offices, regions, borders and boundaries.

access rights.
NetBotz Surveillance add-on application provides visual record
of all activity in an area, plus tagging and keywords to easily
retrieve surveillance clips.
Organize and Configure Your NetBotz Appliances:
NetBotz Central allows customers to set up logical device groups of
NetBotz appliances based on information such as IP address range,
appliance model, or location. Device groups can be nested
hierarchically within other device groups and can be updated
automatically whenever new NetBotz appliances are added using the
auto-discovery process. Once a device group is defined,
configuration and threshold operations can be performed on all
devices contained in the device group (or in any sub-groups that are
nested within the device group) simultaneously. Operations
that can be performed include scheduling when sensor notification is
enabled or disabled, specifying email or SNMP notification settings,
and configuring sensor thresholds (such as temperature, humidity, or
air flow) as well as appliance firmware upgrades.
Easily Monitor Your Appliances:
NetBotz Central presents all appliances in a selected device group
in an easy-to-monitor graphic display when using the Map View
interface. Colors are used to indicate the current state of
each appliance in the group, alerts or network outages are easily
noted, and the current reading of a selected sensor is displayed for
all appliances. You can also use customize the background
image using a map of a city, floor plan of a room, or other graphic
to better represent the physical environment in which the appliances
are installed. Sensor readings, camera images, and the status
of any NetBotz appliance are also easily available from the Map
View. Simply mouse over an icon in Map View, pause for a
moment, and the current readings for all sensors integrated with or
connected to that appliance appear in a pop-up window.
NetBotz Central can also display appliances and pods in a table
format if desired, when using the Table View. Colors are used
to indicate the current state of each appliance or pod in the group,
making alerts or offline status appliances easy to spot.
Generate Sensor Data Graphs and Reports:
With NetBotz Central, sensor data from selected appliances may also
be displayed in a graph format. Using the Graph View,
simply select one or more appliances from a device group, select the
desired sensor type, and specify the time/date range using the
calendar control. NetBotz Central then generates a graph for
the selected appliances, showing all available sensor readings in an
easy-to-read graph. To see more detail, simply select a portion
of the graph and zoom in on the selected data. Graphs can be
saved in JPG and BMP format for use in reports or presentations.
Report View enables the creation of data reports containing
sensor data. It works similarly to the controls for Graph View
however the data that is returned appears in a table view.
Data about multiple appliances can be combined into a single report
to simplify data collation, collection, and comparison. The
data from the report (or from a selected area of the report) can be
exported as a delimited text file for use in other applications.
Alert reports can be generated to show all alert events for a given
time-frame and location.
Manage, Collate, and Review Alerts:
Current and past alerts are easily accessible. With just a
couple of mouse clicks, the user can review alerts by device group,
date, and appliance. The Alerts View shows picture and
non-picture alerts that are stored on the NetBotz Central appliance
for each appliance in the selected group. Also, the Alerts
View supports playback of both video and audio alerts generated by
NetBotz appliances.
User Administration:
NetBotz Central provides a high degree of control over user access
and privileges, enabling you to secure your physical threat
prevention network while still providing your users with sufficient
authorization to get their jobs done. For each user account,
detailed controls allow specification of what device groups can be
accessed and exactly which tasks may be executed by the user on
appliances within the permitted groups. User interface
characteristics- such as color scheme, whether IP address or
appliance location is displayed, and more- can be customized to the
individual user. NetBotz Central's LDAP authentication support
lets you authenticate users on remote LDAP-compatible directories
such as Microsoft Active Directory or Open LDAP Directory Server.
NetBotz Surveillance:
NetBotz Surveillance is an add-on software application for NetBotz
Central that automatically builds a visual record of who enters
critical areas and what they do while they're there. This software
acts as a central repository for pictures captured by NetBotz
monitoring appliances and provides options for accessing
surveillance events logged by date and time and play movie-like
clips of those events.
NetBotz Surveillance also displays live "thumbnail" images from
NetBotz appliances. NetBotz Surveillance clips can be 'digitally
signed', which is the digital equivalent of a visually watermarked
document. These digital signatures make it very difficult to hide
any tampering with images, and provide high confidence in the
integrity of the surveillance clips, making legal admissibility more
likely in the event of court proceedings. Signed clips can be
exported as a signed AVI file for playing on a standard media
player. Standard media players will ignore the proprietary signature
blocks, so the viewer will not see any difference between a signed
or unsigned clip. The digital signature functionality is compatible
with NetBotz 500, 420, and 320.
NetBotz Surveillance allows users to tag clips for later retrieval
and review. Tags can include keywords and text description, as well
as level of priority. Users can then use a flexible new search
interface to rapidly find clips by camera, date, category, level of
importance, or text. The user can query by an absolute date range or
a relative range (e.g. last 2 hours, 1 day, etc). Queries that are
expected to be used frequently can be defined as saved filters to be
run at any time.
